C.A.T. FAMILY DAY
C.A.T. would like to thank everyone that came out to
our 1st Annual Family Day at Turtle Creek Park on Saturday September 23, 2006.
It was a beautiful day the weather was very pleasant and we enjoyed the
fellowship, fun, and nice old school music that even the youth could appreciate.
Some of us found out that while we may be youthful our bones are not.
It was quite a site to watch the men of C.A.T get beat in a game of basketball
by two high school female ball players. This event gave each of us a
chance to relax and enjoy one another's company in a different atmosphere.
We look forward to many more! Bring your ideas!

CAT in action
1. March 16,2005...........Bus trip...........225 officers
Reason: support house bill HB138 and CAT (sponsored*) HB 2670........ 25 yrs
retirement with full benefit
2. April 13th,2005.........300 officers.........bus trip............again
revisiting and lobbying own bills
3. It has been observed that certain organizations tend to take credit for the
many deeds Correction Association of Texas has been doing for their follow TDCJ
employees since 1998. Don't be a fool.............quietly CAT'S been in the
forefront, knocking down barriers. We may not be adept at waiting at the
frontgates and flying papers in your face. We believe that action speaks louder than
voice. You will hear our voice, but you can be certain what follows next. Others
may claim to be but it is the CAT that is visibly out there fighting hard for
fellow TDCJ employees: Our motto from the start is "CAT'S got your
back"......many would like to say that , but few can deliver.............

Congratulations on a Job Well Done
Correction Association of Texas "CAT" wishes to thank its many members and
friends who participated in our bus trip to the state capital March 16, 2005 to
rally and support our call for HB138, HB2670, HB933 and many other bills which
will give TDCJ employees a real salary increase and hazardous duty pay, 25 years
retirement (no restriction of age) and better health insurance.
Our concerns were heard by those who represent us in this the 79th Legislative
Session. Our rally was a success but our task is not done. CAT is asking that
you once again come out on April 13, 2005 and join CAT in support of ourselves
in Austin. Lets us triple our numbers from all over this big state. The question
was asked: Who do you have fighting for us? We can say: CAT, because they
consist of correctional officers fighting since
1998 till the present. Our slogan has always been from the start: CAT'S GOT YOUR
BACK and we hold true to that saying. Many hands, many minds but one goal, lets
send this message loud and clear again on April 13, 2005 in Austin.
